CCTV Policy 2025 for 98 Alder Road, Failsworth, M35 0QW
Our wellbeing center has 24-hour CCTV on the front external wall of the building, the back external wall of the building, and an external doorbell camera.
The CCTV footage on the front external wall and the doorbell camera does capture members of the public as they pass by, however, if no crime has been committed on our premises this footage is deleted daily.

The CCTV footage on the back external wall does capture residents of the domestic properties above, very briefly, as they pass through a communal walkway to the back of our building, however, if no crime has been committed on our premises this footage is deleted daily.

There are also internal cameras within each room of the building, however, the internal cameras are disarmed within business hours and are only armed and recording once the building is empty. They will record any motion within the building out of hours.

These cameras are to protect the business premises from antisocial behaviour, vandalism and burglary.

We are registered with the information commissioner's office – our certificate number is ZB692697 and we strictly adhere to the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK privacy laws.

We have a Data Protection Impact assessment report available to view.
​
We have ensured the back external CCTV camera does not infringe on privacy of our upstairs neighbour's personal entrance to their property, and that all external and internal CCTV cameras are appropriately signposted.

The CCTV cameras are in place ONLY for deterring crime and protecting our business premises.
​
We are prepared to provide footage on request to individuals captured within a 24-hour period (all footage will be automatically deleted beyond that unless a crime has been committed).
​
Individuals can only be given access to footage if it captures them alone and no other third parties.
​
We are prepared to share any footage with the authorities, for the purpose of police investigations, and for insurance companies when requested.
​
There is only one person in our organisation who has permission to view, share and delete the CCTV footage, and they are named below as the data controller with their direct contact information:
