Counsellor in training
Leanne

Hello and welcome to my page.
I am a counsellor in training at the final stage of my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Person-Centered), preparing to qualify at the end of this academic year.

I have worked in education for over a decade with a passion for helping others. Currently, I specialise in working with SEN and have vast experience working with individual differences and supporting a range of needs.
I also have an Early Years Diploma and have training in child psychology.
I am a mother of two and in my spare time, I love to be outdoors on walks with our dog to clear my head. I also enjoy listening to a range of different podcasts.
Going through my own struggles and finding a better life through counselling led me to train to become a counsellor myself - I am now passionate about helping people feel the best they can in life.
I would describe myself as open-minded, understanding and encouraging of others reaching their full potential.
I am very much looking forward to meeting new people and offering a safe space where they can focus on themselves.
Leanne
The Person-centered approach I am offering is non-directive as I believe you are your expert, and I can add my skills to work collaboratively to find the right balance in your life.
‘As no one else can know how we perceive. We are the best experts on ourselves.’
Carl R. Rogers

Life can be tough and there’s no magic wand for a quick fix however, Mental health is just as important as physical health and can be often overlooked.
During our sessions, you can explore whatever you wish- to improve your overall wellbeing.
Whether that be…. your struggles, feelings, or relationships in a non-judgmental space with acceptance.
I can be with you on your journey where you will be met with kindness, empathy, and acceptance with the encouragement for growth.

The sessions will be delivered from a warm, cosy and private therapy room at ‘The Center of Wellbeing’ with complete confidentiality.
I currently have availability for three clients a week on a Thursday, and as I am still in training, I do not charge for the sessions.

You will be initially assessed by the clinical director for your suitability for 'counsellor in training' sessions, and if you meet the requirements, we will then begin our 8-week course together.

As part of our working agreement, you will be invited to give feedback following session four, and on completion of the therapy course. This feedback is invaluable to my personal reflection process, and to improve my clinical practice wherever necessary.

I am fully insured, have an enhanced DBS certificate, and am regularly supervised on this placement, at university, and with an external BACP accredited clinician.

I shall at all time work in accordance with BACP's Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions (2018) and total confidentiality from the moment of your initial enquiry is upheld.
