Hello and welcome to my page.

I am a trainee counsellor in the final stage of my master’s degree qualification at the University of Salford.

Prior to my counselling training, I have worked in education for several years in many pastoral teams across the UK. Currently, and alongside my studies, I am a Pastoral Support Worker and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead in a small independent girl’s school in Greater Manchester, where I also deliver wellbeing training, and offer 1-1 sessions with staff.

I also have a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy training which I can draw on in therapy sessions.

I would describe myself as passionate and committed and very much looking forward to using my skills to support people with their mental health and wellbeing journey.

The therapeutic approach I am studying at university is person-centred, which is a non-directive approach, meaning, in our sessions I will not give you advice or tell you what to do, instead I will encourage guided discovery so that you can take ownership of your own mental wellbeing.

Person-centred therapy can be delivered to support you resolve conflicts, reorganize values and approaches to life, and interpret thoughts and feelings.

During our therapy sessions, you will be invited to talk about, and explore, whichever topics and issues you feel are relevant to your wellbeing, while I offer you understanding, acceptance and empathy without judgement.

Person-centred therapists believe that the client is their own expert - no one knows you, your life, or your experiences better than you do.

I am here to be with you on your journey, to help you to find your own solutions, increase self-awareness, and improve your overall wellbeing.

The sessions are delivered from a warm, comfortable and private therapy room within the wellbeing center.

I currently have availability for six clients to undertake a course of person-centred therapy, and as I am still studying, these sessions are offered free.

My sessions are only available on Fridays.

You will be initially assessed by the clinical director for your suitability for 'counsellor in training' sessions, and if you meet the requirements, we will then begin our 8-week course together.

As part of our working agreement, you will be invited to give feedback following session four, and on completion of the therapy course. This feedback is invaluable to my personal reflection process, and to improve my clinical practice wherever necessary.

I am fully insured, have an enhanced DBS certificate, and am regularly supervised on this placement, at university, and with an external BACP accredited clinician.

I shall at all time work in accordance with BACP's Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions (2018) and total confidentiality from the moment of your initial enquiry is upheld.
